Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Atomic Bomb Dome)

Take the Limousine Bus from Hiroshima Airport to "Hiroshima Bus Center".
5 minute walk.


Hiroshima Peace Memorial, also knows as the Atomic Bomb Dome is a memorial structure (bombsite) kept so that the tragedies of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima city will be remembered. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site notably as a “negative heritage” in the hope that a similar event never happens again.

Itsukushima Shrine is a 1400 year old shrine located in Itsukushima (Miyajima).
It is the head shrine of all 500 or so Itsukushima Shrines that stand across the country.

The park neighboring the Hiroshima airport is surrounded by nature. This resort is divided into several zones. The zones include the Japanese Garden (Sankei Garden) and the main park located at the center, and facilities such as the cycling trail, activity square, multi-purpose grounds, barbecue area.

A 6 ha garden (6 times the size of Hiroshima Baseball Stadium) built in 1993 to commemorate the opening of the Hiroshima Airport.
Flowers of all four seasons can be enjoyed here. The flower festival in June (for the Hydrangea) and the Maple festival in November attract many visitors from all over Japan.

The 800 meter long arch bridge over the Numatagawa Gorge is located at 3 km from Hiroshima Airport toward the Mihara City Daiwa-cho. The length between the arches spans 380 meters in length and is the biggest arch bridge in Japan.
